The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XXXVII Opening
FOX 8/7c
SUNDAY: The 37th (!) edition of the annual “Treehouse of Horror” parody is pretty terrific, opening with a stop-motion animated tease inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas that’s worth several looks. The vignettes are a hoot, including a “horrible marriage-go-round” for Marge when Homer goes into a magical shed and emerges as someone different each time. You’d think that was a blessing, but it turns out there are worse options — except for Survivor‘s Jeff Probst (as himself), who’s kind of a keeper. In a mashup of Pet Sematary and Freaky Friday, Bart and Santa’s Little Helper switch bodies. The inventive finale traps Homer and the kids in a fiendishly deadly driver’s-ed instructional film. It wouldn’t be Halloween without visiting The Simpsons’ playhouse.
Eva Marie Saint and Elizabeth Taylor, 'Raintree Country,' 1957.
Turner Classic Movies 12/11c
SUNDAY: The elegant and versatile Oscar-winning actress Eva Marie Saint died earlier this month at 102, and TCM turns the spotlight on her life and career with a daylong marathon tribute hosted by Ben Mankiewicz. The lineup begins with 1957’s Civil War-era romantic drama Raintree County, co-starring Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift. The 2014 interview special Eva Marie Saint: Live From the TCM Classic Film Festival (7/6c) is followed in prime time by her two most enduring roles in 1954’s On the Waterfront (8/7c), which earned her a Supporting Actress Oscar opposite Marlon Brando, and Alfred Hitchcock‘s rollicking 1959 thriller North by Northwest (10/9c) opposite Cary Grant.
Tom Coyne and Bill Murray, 'A Course Called Ireland,' Season 1, Paramount+, premieres October 25, 2026.
Parmount+ Series Premiere
SUNDAY: Bill Murray returns to his roots — we’re talking ancestral, not Caddyshack — in a scenic and whimsical six-part travelogue that blends a love for golf and country. Specifically, Ireland, where Murray and author Tom Coyne embark on a journey across the isle’s many golf courses, inspired by Coyne’s best-selling book A Course Called Ireland: A Long Walk in Search of a Country, a Pint, and the Next Tee. Along the way, they meet many colorful locals and are joined by Murray’s brothers Joel and John and celebrity buddies including actor Chris O’Dowd and the NFL’s Jason Kelce. Raise a Guinness and come along.
Judy Reyes and Tahmoh Penikett
Lifetime Movie Premiere 8/7c
SATURDAY: Scrubs‘ Judy Reyes plays a very different sort of nurse in an emotional drama that veers away from Lifetime’s typical woman-in-peril formula. In Mercy, she’s Army trauma nurse Major Kendra Williams, who returns home for her estranged mother’s funeral and finds a new calling when she helps deliver a baby during an emergency on a roadside. After being introduced to the understaffed maternity and neonatal wards of the local Mercy Hospital, Kendra faces a reckoning with the daughter she abandoned as a teenager. She also reunites with her first love (Tahmoh Penikett), now married to her one-time best friend.
'The Wolves of Real Estate: The Alexander Brothers,' Season 1, Episode 1, Peacock, premieres October 25, 2026.
Peacock Series Premiere
SUNDAY: What are the odds that Oren, Alon and Tal Alexander will someday be the subjects of a new season of Ryan Murphy‘s Monster anthology? Till that dark day, a three-part docuseries unpacks the twisted history of the bros who lived large in the privileged world of New York and Miami real estate and private security until their party bubble burst. Described as “three hot shots who thought they ruled the world,” yet they somehow managed not to be showcased on Bravo, their reign ended after dozens of women came forward, filing civil lawsuits alleging that the brothers had drugged and sexually assaulted them, leading to their arrest on sex trafficking and assault charges and a sensational trial that landed them in prison.
